GLOBAL ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY IMMERSION EXPERIENCE

Get the Experience you need: Students entering the professional workforce are often faced with a dilemma. In order to get a job, you need experience, but if it is your first job, how do you get experience?

The Global Enterprise Technology (GET) Immersion Experience was designed to help answer this dilemma. Unlike a typical 10-week internship that ends just as you begin to understand your job function and integrate learning from school, the unique GET Immersion Experience is 8-months in length. So you gain knowledge-in such areas as strategy, IT-enabled innovation, organizational dynamics, and effective communication-as well as the specific skills you need to succeed in your project assignments.

GET Immersion Experience Highlights

• Get paid for an extended work experience focusing on enterprise technology at a global company
• Starts in January and concludes in early August
• While still enrolled at your institution and working full time, earn credits for specific courses, via residencies and online learning, so your graduation is not delayed
• Become part of a cohort that works and learns together

Program Structure

• The GET Immersion Experience has four components:
• Winter Residency: 2-week intensive course in January
• Spring Internship & Online Coursework: January - May
• Maymester: Intensive 2-week course at a participating university in May
• Summer Internship: June - Early August
• Industry practitioners provide insight and feedback on course content
• An employee from your host organization is assigned as your mentor
• Intern teams present the results of their project on IT-enabled innovation to senior executives

Coursework Overview
The GET Immersion Experience involves residency, online, and internship experiences specially designed to enable you to earn credits throughout. Concentration tracks allow you to gear course selections toward the best fit for your degree program. This combination of courses, taken during the residencies and virtually during your internship provides an integrated experiental learning environment that enables you to earn 12 to 18 credits-enough to keep you moving forward at the pace you want!

Qualifications
Qualifications expected will vary with the sponsoring institution, but generally will include:

• Sophomores and Juniors (seniors will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Strong academic record with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.2
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, to multi-task, and to solve problems
• Evidence of being self-directed, results-oriented, and customer-focused
• Technical skills required may range from programming to requirements
