Alumni Workgroup

  • Share:

Welcome to the Alumni Workgroup for JPMorgan Chase employees and Syracuse University graduates. Our alumni workgroup, co-led by Sharron Dhall (JPMC) & Barbara Settle (SU), is responsible for identifying and tracking alumni that are interested in participating in THE HUB network. Alumni participate by reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, attending career fairs and networking events, as well as, attend classes, present to student and faculty on a range of topics, and mentor GET interns and full time employees.

Mentoring

This summer we had Syracuse University interns at JPMorgan Chase & Co. facilities in roles across technology and operations. Interns are matched with a mentor who graduated from Syracuse University. We are also exploring how alumni can best enhance the student experience within the Global Enterprise Technologies (GET) program.

Speaker Series

In 2007 participants in the alumni workgroup launch the speaker series program. In this program, the team identifies subject matter expert practitioners and leaders to visit campus and engage in a variety of information exchanges with students, faculty and staff. The intent of the series is to enhance curriculum and generate new ideas for the collaboration.

Recruiting Activities

Efforts of the alumni workgroup sometimes span across the other committees in the partnership. The Internship/Work Experience workgroup, co-led by Jill Pineiro, has identified a number of on-campus recruiting opportunities. Syracuse alumni interested in conducting interviews or visiting campus for special events are encouraged to reach out to Jill or join the Alumni Workgroup for partnership on similar events.

Enhancing Alumni Network

One of the key responsibilities of the Alumni Workgroup is to generate various vehicles to identify, track, and engage Syracuse University Alumni within the firm. Examples include building a social network and formalizing a process to market and attract alumni internally.
