Global Enterprise Technology (GET) Immersion Experience
When companies hire entry-level employees, they need college graduates who already possess hands-on experience. They need graduates who know the technology and large-scale information systems that companies rely on. But that scenario is fraught with some problems. For students, the move from classroom to corporation is often daunting.
The GET Immmersion Experience is an internship from January to August that enables students to gain knowledge in areas such as strategy, IT-enabled innovation, organizational dynamics and effective communication. Students join information technology teams in participating firms and play a key role in designing, developing and supporting critical applications or projects. During their internship, students are exposed to different technology areas within the firm through formal training sessions, speaker series and collaboration with other GET interns.
This is the first year Rutgers is participating in the GET internship program.
