Internships at the JPMC Technolgy Center at SU

For the second year, a select group of seventy five students are getting a chance to apply what they are learning in the classroom to a real world technology environment, directly on Syracuse University's campus. The students, representing four SU schools and more than 15 degree programs, are working as Academic Interns at the JPMorgan Chase Technology Center housed in Lyman Hall. The internship opportunities are designed to complement their classroom learning with hands-on practical experience, and offer the students a chance to learn about working in a global company with operations in more than 60 countries.

The on-campus Technology Center allows the students to participate in JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Development Program (CDP) throughout the school year and summer months on extended assignments. Working alongside experienced technologists, the students are able to deliver production path work while reinforcing academic theories they are learning in the classroom.

Ten students, working in software quality assurance roles, were part of the inaugural cohort in June 2009. Since this time, the program has grown into a robust service for the firm, offering internships focused on the software development lifecycle and technology risk and security management. The current group of students is equally split across these functions and are placed across multiple JPMC business lines.

Not only do the students have the opportunity to work and learn during the academic year, they are also vying for full time analyst positions at the Technology Center and across JPMC's domestic footprint.
