Global Enterprise Technology (GET) Immersion Experience
The GET Immmersion Experience is an internship from January to August that enables students to gain knowledge in areas such as strategy, IT-enabled innovation, organizational dynamics and effective communication. Students join information technology teams in participating firms and play a key role in designing, developing and supporting critical applications or projects. During their internship, students are exposed to different technology areas within the firm through formal training sessions, speaker series and collaboration with other GET interns. Students are able to link Syracuse University course content to specific work assignments.
The Professional Experience cohort enrolls in two 1.5 credit courses (one in the spring and one in the following fall), where they share their thoughts about how the new courses they are taking fit with the skills they deem important for success in the real world. In these courses, students learn about leadership through readings, discussions, and their work as a peer advisor to students in the next cohort of extended interns.
The GET Internship was originally developed and pioneered as part of the JPMorgan Chase-Syracuse University collaboration.
